Cloth Diapers
A few years back before Liam was a thought I saw my friends great cloth diapers and wished I had such a thing for my little ones. Then surprise I was pregnant again. One of the first things I started to do was research. Quickly I found a ton of info about them and started on my journey of cloth diaper obsession. I did it partly to save money, I am not sure if that is coming true since I always want to try more types of diapers, and to help the environment. It really feels good not throwing away tons of waist when there is such a cute and great option.
I love my poop catchers.

OK No Time
So I thought I would find the time to sit and write a little about my family at least once a week, but honestly I think I might get on here once a month if I am lucky. We are back home from the simple life of Galiano and things are much more chaotic than I thought they would be. School has started but not really for Keiran it is the long and painful gradual entry. Next week it will be in full swing and trust me we are ready! I need that 2.5 hrs and so does he. Liam is growing so much, he is so so sweet and so so smiley. Makayla has taken to really getting him giggling which is so fun to see, giggling is also mixed with high pitched screeching. Well my time is up Liam is grunting in his swing! XO Morag

Dirty funnies....
When Makayla was little she asked "If a man hole is called a man hole what is a woman hole?"
The other day Keiran was in the bath with me he shyly told me that Glenda doens't sleep with underwear on. I asked him if he figured that out when he crawled into bed with her. He responded that Glenda has a hairy bum. I told him everyone gets a hairy bum when they grow up and he would have one too when he gets bigger. He told me with all seriousness and conviiction he didn't want to get bigger ever. Later I asked if he would still crawl into Glenda's bed in the middle of the night, his responsd "No way!"
Liam has yet to ask me any dirty questions but he is now waking in the middle of the night and grunting for boob so I guess thats a start.
PS I won some awesome reusable snack packs from a blog I follow. Check them out here. And thanks Tanya I can't wait to see them.

Re-Directory

Prestory Last weekend Scott was in a car accident with our dear friend B (who was driving) Everyone is fine.
Galiano has one of the best recycling places. It has a re-directory where people bring old items they don't want and others can come a get the goods for free! It is so much fun for the kids and us finding fun treasures. The recycling area is like a social event with music blasting out of the speakers and people socializing while recycling. If you visit Galiano on a Friday or Saturday this is the place to be. Yesterday we did the deed with the kids helping sort our plastics and cans then the "workers" showed the kids the back room where they could pick through books to take home. We found such gems as Serial Killers a Photographic Journey or The Pet Cookbook - recipes with pets as the ingredients.... it was very strange. Makayla came out with some Archie comics and a french Travel Phrase Book while Keiran only wanted one book RoadSense for Drivers Study Guide. We thought this was a funny choice but he was proud. As we where walking to the re-directory Keiran told ud B should borrow his new book! What a funny kid.

Simple life
These days our lives are very predictable, it goes like this:
We wake up between 6:30-8 (I like it when it is 8) but Keiran is an early riser. Liam has a little naked play then I put him in his magical swing and he drifts off into lala land while I get dressed in my bathing suit with a covering of some sort. Usually it consists of shorts and a tshirt that I have been wearing for days. Then I pack a big snack/ lunch picnic for the beach... fruit, chips/crackers, sandwiches, drinks and a couple of ciders for me. During this time the big kids play in the front yard creating some sort of magical land or just impersonating real life. Like when they packed the play car for the trip.

Then by 11 or 12 we go to the beach where the kids have all kinds of learning experiences... exploring tide pools, playing with crabs, swimming, climbing rocks, watching otters feed, pee in the ocean, poop in sand holes OK too much information. Liam sleeps in the moby wrap or plays nude on a blanket in the shade. Then we pack up around 4-5 come home eat dinner play in the yard and hopefully the kids have played hard enough the drift off to sleep.
This is my new simple life and I like it.

Makayla's 8
My girl is 8 how did that happen. I am a mama of an 8 year old girl wow. Today Glenda called her a little girl, she replied I am not a little girl any more just so you know.
We have spent everyday at the beach since we got here 1 month ago. Today the kids didn't want to leave the water they were in the ocean and I was stuck with Liam strapped to me begging them to get out. Finally they came out we went home and ate more food than I thought possible. They are having a great summer and breaking down tons of country cat walls I love it!!! I love having a mix of country cat and city cat it's pretty special. The other day Scott built a sand castle and the kids watched it for over an hour waiting for the tide to take it down, much better than TV. Some of the kids even had snacks.
Liam is growing everyday his personally is really coming out. He is a super smiley little guy he lights up my world when he smiles and talks to me I love having a baby again. He loves his change table and spends sometimes upwards of 30 min talking to his tiny love mobile. I also bought a swing it is great because it plugs in so I don't have to use batteries. He only nurses for maybe 5 min every 2- 3 hrs so he can spend a bit of time in the swing which usually lulls him to sleep where he naps for a good hour.

3 months
and a little bit. Liam is now 3 months, 8 weeks adjusted, and I am feeling like we are finally leaving the newborn stage and I am really happy about it. It feels like he is developing so fast. He is smiling and cooing and today he grabbed his soother out of his mouth and tried to put it back in multiple times. The stage of holding things is near. He is also super strong on his legs loves to stand and sit on my lap to see the world around. He has gotten into rocking with grandma and his soother, which he loves more than my milk. So tomorrow I am going to get a swing to rock him, hopefully he will like it. he just woke up so this post is over i will try and find time soon to tell some funny family stories.

Country road
Today we went for a walk to the corner store so the kids could return the beer cans. On the way they got a bunch of cans out of the bush. Well Keiran got the cans because Makayla was to scared of bugs, she just cheered him on from the side of the road. They had a great time “saving the environment” and making money for candy. Keiran didn’t even protest the walk once! At one point they said they like doing it more than going to the beach and insisted we should find cans in the bush all the time. They made $1.05 each.... It was great fun teaching them how to make a buck in the country.
Liam is growing so much every day he is smiling and cooing up a storm. He has a sweet personality so far, thankfully! And he sleeps so well from 10-4am almost every night.

Smiles
OK we have real smiles. They started on fathers day and they are soooo cute! He seems to smile when he first wakes up which is great. Keiran would scream and be so sad for at least 30 min after he woke up, I am looking forward to happy rising. Last night Shelly came from Montreal with little Layla. They had a sleepover in Makayla's room. Layla is such a sweet happy baby. Shelly is a great mom I love watching my friends becoming mama's they are all so great at it!
I had a lot of breast milk left in my freezer from pumping while Liam was in the hospital. I wasn't sure what I would do with it since I don't give bottles very much, if at all. I met someone who had a friend with twins who needed breast milk. So Rainbow, yes her name was Rainbow, came and got my 60 oz of breast milk. Now I have my freezer space back and I don't need to be reminded of moo cow every time I pull out the chicken.( moo cow is what the kids said when they saw me pumping )
I am busy here packing for Galiano. I have to pack 4 people for a month on the island. I am trying to take it one step at a time. I also have to do a huge superstore shop with all 3 kids Friday morning. Wish me luck!

my little chunker
Liam is 9lbs 9 oz today. It is amazing because he really only eats for 5 min every 2 hours or so. He rolled again today twice and on a harder surface. It is a little crazy since they are not suppose to do this until 3 or 4 months. I got a smile but only 1. I think I have another physical man in my life.
I went back to the nurse lead baby group today. I want to get in on the up and coming baby generation. This way when I am in the park I don't feel like an intruder I might recognize a face or two. There seemed to be some nice looking (not mean and inbred) moms that I might be able to befriend, as long as they don't see how mean I am to my bigger kids :) Today there was 5 babies all born within days of Liam.. all girls and bigger than him!!! Its funny when they find out I have 3 including an 8 year old their jaws drop I guess I look kind of young. I will continue to go again after the summer I might even be able to make some coffee dates.

Rolling
Liam is 2months 6 days/ 9.5 weeks or 3.5 weeks adjusted and this morning he rolled from front to back 4 times! Right after he barfed in Scott's face, they were cuddling in bed. Crap I should have gotten a picture of that, it would have been funny. Now Scott will probably feel compassion for me when I call him in from the other room to help when I get barfed on. It is scary when a 8 pound baby barfs piles and piles of breast milk all over you, it makes me jump every time.

Smiles
I think I started my morning with Liams first social smiles. I can not guarantee it as he hasn't blessed me with more yet. He was on my lap awake looking into my eyes and he gave me one open mouth half smile then again a moment later.... I melted!
He has dimples in his knees and elbows, I love little babies especially my own.

Pictures
Two things that are interesting about my little Liam. He often hold the soother while it is in his mouth and has done so since he was only days old. He seems to be very coordinated with his hands we will see. He also smiles a lot in his sleep, and I mean a lot. A few days ago the neighbor gave us a live crab, Scott was in heaven. He has wanted to buy crab for while but I won't spend the big bucks. Truthfully I found the whole thing a little gross it was hard to enjoy the final product after seeing the crab alive then boiled in water. Scott got to eat most of it because the kids would eat it either. May be next year we will get him a crab trap for his birthday... or may be fathers day hmmmmmm.

2 girls 1 boy just like I wanted!
Finally a post about my other kids not just Liam. Since last night Keiran has taken to dressing in girl clothes. He loves Makayla's pink nighty which he has been wearing all afternoon. I think he likes the cool breeze on these hot days as he is also not wearing underwear with it. But he still is acting very boyish with quick ninja kicks showing us his male parts. I think Scott finally convinced him to add the underwear to the outfit. He picked a pair of Makayla's that are blue, which he proudly pointed out to me. He has also changed his name to Anika.... hmmm how long will this last?
